Alerts overview
Design goal: one alert per root cause. Destinations expand with your plan; email is the baseline path.
Steps
1. Understand triggers
Freshness breaches, dbt failures, and cost spikes can each open an incident and optionally notify.
2. Prefer the queue
Use Watchdog as source of truth; alerts should point you there, not replace it with noise.
3. Test delivery
Send a test alert after changing destinations.
